About Barry van Rensburg
Life Philosophy
Barry believes that life was given to us for two purposes: to utilise and to enjoy. A balance between these two leads to sustained growth. Pursuing the one at the expense of the other leads to intra-personal and inter-personal problems. He wants to assist people to attain this balance of ‘joyful growth’.
He firmly believes that people are bottled up potential.
His favourite saying is: ‘Shit happens, but it is a wonderful fertilizer!’
Characteristics
Passion, enthusiasm, humour, a zest for life, creativity and openness, caring and a firm belief in people’s abilities, are some of the traits that have made Barry a growth agent in many lives. Someone once described Barry as “a rare combination of head and heart”.
Experience
Coaching and Mentoring
All his professional life Barry has been busy, directly or indirectly, coaching and mentoring people of different spheres of life and of all ages. He started out as a minister of religion and in that capacity gained invaluable experience in helping people grow to their fullest potential.
He has since become a fulltime relationship, life and family coach.
He is also experienced in group coaching and has recently added Action Learning Coaching to his portfolio.
Training
Barry is a natural trainer. Through the years he has written and presented numerous courses and workshops. One of the most successful is his South African focussed Public Speaking Workshop.
During the past few years he has added various aspects of people skills training to the list.
Other
He is an accomplished TV and video director/producer, writer, motivational speaker and MC.

Interests
- He is passionate about children and family wellbeing.
- Creative writing (short stories, poetry, plays, articles) adds meaning to Barry’s life.
