So you want a more meaningful family life?

You are looking for greater harmony in your family?
Do you want to see every family member develop to her or his full potential?
Perhaps you visited our website because you want to take your family to the next level: Improve communication; succeed in handling conflict more constructively; create better understanding of each other’s needs, etc.

Then Family Coaching is the answer! po10tia can help you!

Unfortunately parents (and kids!) are not trained to run families. No wonder the blessing of the family home often turns into a danger zone. It’s here where a trained Family Coach can facilitate greater family harmony and health.

What is Family Coaching?

Family Coaching is the process of gently leading a family towards a more fulfilled family life. The coach facilitates a family to strive towards and realize a shared outcome, to the benefit of the entire family.

In practice it means that family coaching strives to equip the family and all its members to:

  • create a balanced family life for themselves
  • set common family goals
  • build the trust bridge
  • handle and manage conflict constructively
  • communicate effectively
  • develop practical problem solving mechanisms
  • set family principles and values
  • overall: to build for themselves a functional and happy family.

What is the role of the family coach?

No-one (not even one of our experienced coaches) can take your family up the stairway to the next level - only you can. And you cannot do it alone: It must be a family dance.
The good news is that you and your family already have what it takes to dance up the stairway. You have the po10tial to be a great family.

So why then a family coach? He or she is only the catalyst: Helping the process of growth through his/her knowledge and experience. Under the right guidance your family will blossom.

The coach will have family sessions and individual sessions. He or she will coach the couple (in the case of a two parent family), the children, and any relationship within the family, if so requested. The family will determine the agenda of the coaching sessions as well as the desired outcome(s).

The ultimate aim of Family Coaching is to establish a self coaching family – a family that will have the love and respect, the will and the tools to build a happy, healthy family.

po10tia has Family Coaches at your disposal that are trained and experienced to help your family grow towards this goal. Contact us right away!

The "How" of Family Coaching

The coach will have family sessions and individual sessions. He will coach the couple (in the case of a two parent family), the children, any group of the family,  if so requested. The family will determine the agenda of the coaching sessions as well as the desired outcome(s).

Coaching is most effective when the coach and coachee meet eye to eye, but this is not always possible.

If the person(s) who requires coaching (the "coachee") is in Gauteng, our coach will meet him or her or them somewhere where it is quiet and private. If this entails travelling by the coach, a reasonable fee for travelling will be payable.

If a face-to-face meeting is not possible, arrangements can be made for coach and coachee(s) to communicate online via Skype, Windows Messenger, telephone or email. In the case of coaching via telephone, these calls will have to be made by the coachee. (Contact us here.)

If you prefer coaching to take place in a language other than English or Afrikaans, please enquire beforehand.

The cost of Family Coaching

The first session of 60 minutes is free of charge. The coachee(s) can then decide whether to continue or not (without any obligation) and the fee of any extended or additional coaching sessions will be negotiated between coach and coachee. The coach may request that the fee for any such additional coaching session be paid upfront.
